Time is tight, and self-care often ends up at the bottom of the to-do list. Still, we constantly hear how important it is to take time for ourselves – to slow down, tune in, and care for our bodies and minds.

One easy way to bring more self-care into your day? A simple beauty ritual. It doesn’t have to be elaborate or time-consuming, but it can nourish your body, hair, and soul.

Here’s a calming nighttime ritual to try – just 20 minutes for a better night’s sleep and a more radiant morning:

1. Stretch:  Gently roll your shoulders, fold forward, or rotate your neck – whatever feels good. Just 5 minutes of stretching and deep breathing can help you release tension and settle your nervous system.

2. Quick Bath or Shower:  A 10 to15 minute warm bath with scented Epsom salts and dim lighting is ideal. If that’s not doable, a longer, steamy shower will still do the trick.

3. Exfoliate:  While you’re in the bath or shower, use a gentle scrub on your face and/or body. It helps remove dead skin cells and boosts circulation for that dewy, healthy glow in the morning.

4. Hair Care:

  • Washing night? Use a conditioning mask, then loosely braid damp hair for soft waves in the morning.
  • Non-wash day? Detangle, apply a moisture oil to the ends, and twist hair into a loose bun or braid to protect and style overnight.

5. Moisturize:  Apply a rich moisturizer to your face and body. Seal in hydration with a facial oil. Don’t skip your feet – massage in lotion and slip on cozy socks. They’ll thank you in the morning!

That’s it! Easy, right? Whether you do this every night or just once or twice a week, you’re carving out a moment of peace and care that makes a difference – inside and out.
